Character Design

Elyn and Pirates of Sunderland is a character and illustration driven animation. Before design took place, each character requires a thorough write up of who they are, where they come from, what their purpose is, and what they look like. Most importantly, the artist also needs to understand the relationship between each character. This is done before any drawings are made. While determining any clothing material, the character illustrator is given clothing samples including leather, cotton, denim, buttons, and metal to have as tangible reference while drawing.
